Birthday parties and refusing to sleep!

We had a lot of fun doing Dominic's 2 little birthday parties. The day of his birthday he took treats to school for his class, and his teacher gave him a birthday crown and 6 pennies (one for each year he is). That night we had his requested mac and cheese for dinner, and my parents came over to see him open presents and we ate those lovely green hulk cupcakes. They actually didn't turn out as messy as I thought they would, so that was a plus. Then on Saturday we had family over for cake and ice cream. We usually do our kids parties at my parents house, because they have more room than we do but this year we went ahead and did it at our house. Uncle James and Aunt Michelle got him a light up Hulk mask that goes with his big Hulk smash hands that Grandma Quintana got him for Christmas. He loves it! My sister got him a cool boxing ring thing. It has 4 fighter guys in it, and you fight each other until only one is left standing. She said she figured it was a good way for the boys (Dom and Gabe) to be able to play fight without taking it out on each other like they usually do. Good idea Steph!!! All in all it was fun, and he got lots of stuff that he loved. Including more games for his Nintendo DS. Even my mom got into playing them LOL

On another completely different note. We have been having a hard time getting Tasia to go to bed at night, and I am lacking some much needed sleep because of it. She seems to think that when we put her to bed she needs to get up and play in her room. Last night I went to check on her, and she had gotten a hold of Syds markers and was coloring on my walls! Sometimes she's not doing anything, but she just won't go to sleep. She's even going so far as to get up and turn on the light in their room, so we are constantly having to go in and turn it off. We fight with her sometimes for 3 or 4 hours after she has been put to bed! We thought maybe she was napping too long, so I have tried not laying her down for a nap during the day. If we do that though she is exhausted right before dinner and we have to fight to keep her awake. Then she's so tired and doesn't want to eat. I have even tried giving her a bath to help relax her right before bed, but that didn't help either. We aren't sure what the deal is, but it's exhausting and since her and Syd share a room she is keeping her up to so Syd isn't getting the sleep she needs. Hopefully we can figure it out soon, so we don't all lose our minds. If anyone has any suggestions it'd be greatly appreciated!!!

No suggestions, just an amen to that!! Jack will not go to bed. It's like watching the gong show around here. He thinks it's play time, screaming time, etc. We took out the naps too and now come dinner he'll just fall asleep in the middle of the floor. I do not remember the older kids being this difficult!

Boston went through a thing like that at about two-two1/2 years old. SHe would stay up all night like it was nothing. So I had to sit in her room with her and everytime she got out of bed I put her back in it without talking to her. I eventually had to spend a few nights outside of her door (in the door jamb). I just listened to my Ipod and tried not to pull my hair out. It took about four or five days, but she did fine after that. Hope it helps :) Good luck
